Who we are
PulseDrop is an iOS app for sharing short photo and sound drops with other people. It is developed by Tejash Patel. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and what choices you have.
Information we collect and why
- Profile information you enter: display name, username, bio and an optional profile photo. Other users can see it next to your drops. Purpose: to run the app and show who posted.
- Content you post: photos, sounds, captions, tags, comments and likes that you choose to share. A like is saved with your username, and the author of the drop can see who liked it. This content is public to other PulseDrop users. Purpose: to show your drops in the feed and let others respond.
- Account identifier: PulseDrop uses your iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit to store and load your content. We receive an app-specific identifier tied to it. We never see your Apple ID password.
- Agreement record: when you accept these terms we save the version you accepted, the date and time, and your app-specific iCloud identifier, so we can show that you agreed. It is deleted with your account.
- Safety information: reports you send about a drop, and the list of users you block, which stays on your device. Purpose: to keep the community safe.
- On your device only: your settings and cached copies of sounds so playback starts faster.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your email address, phone number, home address, precise location, contacts or payment details. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.
Storage and sharing
Your profile and drops are stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) in a public database so other PulseDrop users can see them. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy. We do not share your information with anyone else, except if the law requires it or to protect people's safety.
Permissions
PulseDrop asks for access to your photos, camera or microphone only when you choose to attach something to a drop. Live Activities (Lock Screen and Dynamic Island), the Home Screen widget and background audio show the sound that is playing and are generated on your device. Notifications are optional: if you allow them, the app asks iCloud to alert you when someone in your Circle posts or remixes your vibe. To do that, your Circle list (usernames) is saved in your notification subscription on iCloud and is removed when you delete your account. If you search for music, the words you type are sent to Apple's iTunes Search service to find songs, and 30-second song previews play directly from Apple. We do not keep your searches. A drop with a song saves only the song's name, artist, cover image link and Apple's preview link, never the audio itself. If we ever collect new kinds of information, we will update this policy before we do.
Your choices and deleting your data
You can edit your profile and delete any of your drops at any time. You can delete your account and everything you posted from Profile > Settings > Delete My Account. You can download a copy of your profile, drops and comments from Profile > Settings > Export My Data. You can also email us and we will remove or send your data for you.
Children
PulseDrop is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and ask you to read and accept it again.
